Privacy Policy
AiLine respects your privacy. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. For the underlying security measures, see our Security page.
1. Data We Collect
When you create an AiLine account and connect your SaaS platforms (GitHub, Slack, Notion, Google Workspace, etc.), we collect:
- Account data: name, email address, organization, and job title you provide at signup.
- Platform activity: event data from connected platforms (commits, messages, page edits, calendar changes) needed to build your timeline.
- Usage data: product analytics events (page views, feature usage) to improve the service.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, collected via standard web analytics.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and operate the AiLine service — building your timeline, generating AI summaries, answering your questions.
- To improve the product, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- To send service-related communications (you can opt out of marketing emails).
- To meet legal and compliance obligations.
3. PII Filtering and AI Processing
Before any data is processed by AI systems — including external language models — we run it through a PII (Personally Identifiable Information) cleaner that filters and anonymizes sensitive fields. This applies to all summarization, search, and chatbot workflows.
The AI insights generated for your organization are not used to train models for other customers unless you explicitly opt in to aggregate, anonymized analysis.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personally identifiable data. We share data only in these limited cases:
- Service providers: cloud infrastructure, analytics, and LLM providers that help us operate the service, under contract and data processing agreements.
- Legal requirements: when required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
- Free tier — anonymized data: for users on our free tier, anonymized data (filtered for PII and aggregated) may be used for monetization. This data is de-identified and cannot be traced back to you or your organization. See our Terms & Conditions for details.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
AiLine is GDPR compliant and respects equivalent rights under other privacy regulations. You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your data (right to be forgotten).
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect prior lawful processing).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at shin.iguchi@ailine.ai.
7. Cookies and Tracking
We use a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, and analytics (Google Analytics). You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.
8. International Data Transfers
Our infrastructure is hosted in the European Union (GCP europe-west1). When data is transferred outside the EU — for example, to certain LLM providers — we rely on standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date below. We encourage you to review the policy periodically.
